Holocaust survivor celebrates 100th birthday in Houston

David Mitzner celebrated his birthday with family and friends Sunday night at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. He has been living the american dream since 1949. Originally from Warsaw, Poland Mitzner moved to the United States after spending eight years in the soviet forced labor camp.“I never gave up,” Mitzner said. “I always had faith.  God almighty was watching me. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here.”

Twins drown in canal

    Two 18-month-old twins drowned after their mom tried to fend off a bee and let go off their stroller. This happened while Alexis Keslar was walking with her twin sons, along a canal in Yuma. When the stroller rolled away into the canal, Keslar went after her sons, but the current washed them away and the water was too deep. After she got out of the canal, she called for help, and once her children were found, they were taken to the hospital, where they pronounced dead. Walking around canals can be more dangerous than it seems. -priscilla

Deadly Shooting and Car Accident

Three people are now dead after a car accident. A 41 year old man accidentally hit a two year old child after not seeing him, causing the child to die on impact. After the incident a relative of the child came out the house with a gun and shot the driver in the face. After he was shot a 15-year old was also shot. The police do not know if the 15-year old was a passenger in the car. I think this is absolutely disgusting. Yes, a man did hit the small child, but if the parents payed more attention to their kid he/she could still be here. Kids should be watched all the time because there are many terrible people in this world who take, hurt and even kill children.

Houston celebrates the Astrodome’s 50th birthday

The “Eighth Wonder of the World” opened for play 50 years ago, but the building has not lost its spotlight with the fans. Despite not being used by the Astros since 1999, the dome is still around and fans got the unique opportunity to see how the dome is doing these days. Fans lined up around the outside of the building waiting for the their chance to look at a piece of history and snap some shots to help celebrate the dome turning 50.

Suspect crashes truck into house

    Three men were talking and one got mad, jumped in his truck and floored it. He ran over the homeowner and crashed into the house. He passed through the garage and kitchen. He then reversed and left, and the homeowner is currently in critical condition. The suspect is still being found, and will be aggravated assault charges. -priscilla

Obama visits Bob Marley museum in Jamaica

Obama is the first sitting president to visit jamaica since Ronald Reagan was there in 1982. Before he got down to politics, He made a quick stop at the Bob Marley Museum, that’s where bob lived until his death in 1981. The president is no stranger to reggae or to ganja he says he is a big fan of the reggae star and stoner icon. But the president wasn’t doing doobie during the visit. No pot smoke just political smoke.

Stalker Alert!

Joshua Corbett was said to be the man who broke into the famous actress, Sandra Bullocks home. The court had a hearing for the man Thursday where they played ms. Bullocks disturbing 9-1-1 call. She is heard telling the dispatcher that she is hearing “them” and she's “locked herself in her closet”. Luckily her son was not with her at the time of the invasion. I think this man should be charged because no matter who a person is -famous or not no ones home should be broken into.

Man rescues woman frozen to the ground

A missing woman was found frozen to the ground after last week’s ice storm.Patricia, 74, survived the freezing temperatures thanks to a man who spotted her car and stopped to see if everything was OK.Keith Sheldon works for Middle Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation, but his true passion in life is photography.Last Friday, Sheldon took the day off to take pictures of the ice and snow in Franklin. As he went to leave, he realized the road was too icy and turned around.As he turned around, he noticed a gray Lexus stuck in a ditch.Sheldon started taking pictures of the car, thinking it might belong to someone at a nearby church.

They had to rely upon Celta Vigo profligacy, a world-class performance from Gerard Pique and another goal from Jeremy Mathieu. If they're not careful, they'll use all their luck up at once!Real Madrid's 9-1 victory earlier in the afternoon set the tone, but Barca only need 1-0 wins to keep the gap between the two clubs. DRAFT DAY

                         

     Football has exactly 22 days until draft day, where things begin to get very hard for the athletes. Draft day will take from April 30th-May 2nd. Final decisions have been made. It's fun to look ahead and see what selections each team might make when the draft begins later this month. While it only takes one unexpected curveball on draft day to seismically shift the proceedings to follow. The year will be started amazingly, with the exchange of good players to new teams.

Woman Hit Child With Tablet

Officers are investigating the case of a woman hitting a 3 year old in the face with a tablet. A man saw that 39 year old dragged the kid from kohl’s and started recording the incident . While the woman wiped the kids tears, she grabbed the tablet and hit the child in the face. The man spoke up to her and told her why would she hit the kid, she didn’t respond, a woman comes up and tells her how she feels about hitting a kid that can’t protect themself. officers are taking the case to court. hitting a kid is wrong since they can’t defend themselves.

Officer Charged with Murder

Officer Michael Slager was charged with the murder of 50 year old Walter Scott after shooting him various times in the back. Apparently, scott had a weapon and so Michael took “appropriate” actions and pulled his gun out. I think that other things could’ve been better. Meaning instead of Michael pulling out his gun he could’ve pulled out his taser. He also could’ve identified the so called “weapon” before taking any drastic measures. This now a days is why people do not trust the police, they over use their power.

‘Furious 7′ breaks box office records

It’s fast, it’s furious and it’s breaking all of the king of records! Paul Walker’s final big screen appearance in the seventh installment of the Fast and Furious franchise opened right into victory lane this weekend grossing $143 million nationwide at the box office. That left the other guys in the dust.The previous record holder for 2015, Fifty Shades of Grey only brought in $85 million. And the fast-driving franchise blew past Captain America: Winter Soldier’s $95 million dollar record for the month of April. Family found dead at home

     Eight members of a Maryland family were found dead at home, when police went to check up on the father whom didn’t show up to work, which concerned an employer. It was one adult and 6 juveniles who were found dead. The cause for their deaths is still unknown, they suspect it was the inhaling of carbon monoxide. The mother has been notified about this tragedy. We have to be careful about what goes on in our homes.

Houston Uber driver charged with sexual assault

 

    A man named Duncan Burton who was a Uber driver  was charged with sexual assault against a drunk women. Burton says he was driving her home when she insisted to go to her place. The cops later found out that was a lie because when the women woke up from the hangover she had a different story to tell. The women said she woke up in a apartment and didn’t know who’s it was. She feared that she might have been raped so she went to get tested and she seen that she was. - George Sanchez     

Child Cruelty

A nanny was caught on camera hitting a three year old boy with an ipad in the face after he would not stop crying. The video tapers said that he saw the woman dragging the child by the hair so he pulled out his phone and began recording her. The woman is undergoing an investigation at the moment but charges have yet to be pressed. I just think this whole situation is terrible. If you are not the mother of this child then why even put your hands on him. In no way should she have discipled him physically.

Rape victim dies hours before trial

Youngstown, Ohio had a fire that killed ten year-old Corinne Gump and her grandparents a couple of hours before her trial. The young Gump was the victim of rape by her mothers boyfriend, Robert Seman. Seman tried to bribe a witness the wsame day and was thrown back in jail. That guy is so sad, raping his girlfriend’ daughter.

Teen finds dead parents

A chainsaw massacre is what’s being said about a home in Lower Moreland, Pennsylvania.Police say a teen boy came home to find both his parents dead from what appears to be wounds from a chainsaw.  what’s even more bizarre than the weapon of choice, is that police are only ruling one of the deaths a homicide.They say the mother, Nicole Peppelman, 43, was murdered but they haven’t said the same for her husband, Chris Peppelman, 48. Cynthia Lennon, John Lennons first wife dead at 75

Cynthia married john when he was a struggling musician and was there for him when he rose to fame with the beatles. She died wednesday according to the web post by her son julian. She passed away at her home in Mallorca, Spain following a short brave battle with cancer.

John and Cynthia were married for 6 years 1962-1968 they met at an art school where she studied to be an illustrator and john practiced painting. “He was more interested in music then in art” she said. In 1968 john and cynthia split up and thats when john met yoko ono. Cynthia married three or more times after that and wrote a book about john and their marriage.

Mom Attacks Teen Who Was Bullying Her Daughter

    A mom heard that her daughter was getting bullied and instead of going to to the teachers she shows up to the school and beats up the bully. The mom came dressed in a disguise and the daughter and the mom jumped the bully. The video shows the daughter and the mom beat and kick the girl on the face. All the mom had to do was tell the teacher.  They both have not been charged with anything but when the cops showed up, the mother took off. - George Sanchez       

First images from Flight 9525 site show plane broke into small pieces when it crashed

Recovery teams in France now have a road that takes them closer to the crash site of Germanwings flight 9525.New video from the site provides some of the first close-up views of what is left of the plane after co-pilot Andreas Lubitz used it to kill himself and murder 149 passengers and crew.A few big pieces remain, like what appears to be part of the fuselage.

Selena still remembered.

March 31st, 1995  was the death of the beautiful latina singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez. She is still remembered after 20 years of her death. There was not a lot of crossover pop stars who looked like her in the United States. Selena was very unique and had her own styles in many different ways. She started at a very young age , so she did not get a chance to live her life to the fullest like she planned. Even after so long , she is still loved by many.

Daughter Tries To Poison Mom

A twelve year old girl tries to poison her mother after getting her Iphone taken away. The mom said she smelled bleach while drinking her smoothie but thought nothing of it. When she smelled the bleach again she confronted her daughter and her daughter admitted to spiking her drink with bleach, The mom immediately rushed herself to the emergency room. The twelve year old has since been taken to a juvenile detention center. I think it’s ridiculous how she went this far just for a phone. She could’ve earned it back.

15 KILLED

   

       A group of gunman crashed through Kenya university before dawn Thursday, opening fire and taking hostages. Exactly 15 people have been killed through the shooting. All staff member are “and are helping with the tracking of students.” Joel Ayora was a witness of the attack made on campus, “proceeded to the hostels, shooting anybody they came across except their fellows, the Muslims."

Lionel Messi will be ready for Barcelona's clash against Celta Vigo on Sunday after recovering from the foot injury which kept him out of Argentina's two friendly matches against El Salvador and Ecuador.Messi will be coming back to advance with his team into the next round of the champions league which will be a very important game for the Barcelona Club.

The Art Of John Lennon on display in Houston

HOUSTON, TX – Most people know John Lennon for the amazing musical artist he was, but not everyone knows he also studied art.  “The Art of John Lennon” exhibit is on display at Off the Wall Gallery, in the Galleria, March 26- 29.The prints on display are hand picked by Yoko Ono, and many are available for purchase.  Entry is free, but they do have a donation box benefiting the Houston Food Bank, for those able to contribute.

MAN KILLS FRIEND IN SELF-DEFENCE

   A man’s car was stolen and he suspected he knew who it was. The man thought it was a friend who lived with him in the same apartment complex. Later that night the friend came back to the apartment and that’s when the argument became physical. The friend was was beating up the man when the man got ahold of a gun and killed his friend in self defense. The man was not charged with anything but investigators are still searching. - George Sanchez
